The time has come... to Volunteer For A Better India

Good People & Bad People...

Who are they?

The common notion of a bad person in our country is someone who is creating nuisance to the other people in the society. As opposed to this, it is assumed that a good person is someone who does not trouble the other people in the society. This is a common understanding in our society. And today I am here to challenge this definition of a good person!!!

Is not doing a harm to others sufficient for a person to be qualified to be termed as a good person???
When some bad things are happening around you and if you are not doing anything about it, then can you still call yourself a good person? Isn't it a good human being's moral responsibility to help another fellow human being in the hour of need? If some bad person is committing a bad deed, and if a "so called good person" is letting it happen by simply watching it and doing nothing about it, then isn't the "so called good person" indirectly supporting the bad act? And if it is so, then can that person be still called a "good person"? And isn't that person an equally dangerous person for the country in the long run???

I strongly believe that the reason for the sorry state of our country today are millions of these "so called good people" who are just sitting & complaining and remaining inactive about the issues faced by the nation. Everyone is ready to ignore what is going on in the society as along as it is not impacting their own lives and the lives of their family in a direct manner. They are ready to undergo pain and frustration if they have to face it once in a while... be it bribing an official to get a passport or facing inconvenience while dealing with any other government office. But when are we going to awaken to the harsh reality of crime and insecurity in our country?

The time has come for the so called good people to stand up and take action. To expand their definition of a family and treat this entire country as their family and its countrymen as their own family members. And to start taking steps however small these may be to begin with, to bring about positive changes in the society through their own actions. And this is exactly what we are preparing to achieve in the days to come... The Art of Living Foundation is launching a platform for the good people to come together and work in this direction as a united group in all corners of the country. Its named as the "Volunteer for A Better India" movement and the program has got a huge response in the nation's capital since its inception last month...

Now is the time for us to swing into action!!! The coming Saturday, 23rd February 2013 will mark the historic launch of this project in Mumbai in the presence of the founder of the Art of Living Foundation, His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji. Maharashtra has been the land of saints and spiritual revolution and it is the people of this state who launched the fight for freedom a few centuries back when intruders form all over the world started attacking our country. Now is the time for us to show our real strength and teach the bad people a lesson. Jai Hind, Jai Maharashtra!! :-):-):-)
