Things at Nevis are pretty happening these days…especially on the sports front ;-)
We had a dramatic football thriller on Sunday morning with guest entry of our young & energetic CEO Charles Dauber getting on ground to have a taste of it! And boy did he get a real taste of it? With Ranjeet, our inspirational captain sending the ball in net just before the full time to level the game in a 2-2 draw! The solo goal by Ranjeet was undoubtedly the best move of the tournament so far and a much needed one for us after second-half comeback by Wipro strikers had silenced the NFA (read Nevis Football Association) camp.
The Nevis footer comeback was right away followed by a humble come back in the chess tournament by us (meaning a team of two comprising yours truly and Digambar) to finish the week off strongly after a tough start on Saturday where we opened the tourney both losing in the starters. Saturdays picture of one win & three losses was suddenly twisted to make Nevis look strong in the score sheet with 3 wins out of 4. I firmly believe all the credit goes to our perseverance which I think is an absolute must for excelling in this game of wits.
There were a few personal sacrifices done to manage the quintessential work at office, family commitments, my services at AOL, and the indulgence in the passion for sports and secrets! But finally it was worth the experience. And my belief in the fact that life should be taken more as a game these days was deepened my the string of events on Sunday. Man, last few weeks have been somewhat hectic, not that I didn’t love doing what I did, but the flurry of activities & responsibilities on various fronts made me crave for a bit of some change. And the weekend & week off were perfect in giving me that break to get my contentment & energy levels back to normal. Long Live NFA!
P.S. if you feel you should be part of such cool action on weekends and some hot action on weekdays at work and happen to be in the field of network security, don't be shy to send your resume to me right away. We are marching towards releasing our flagship product soon, so people with sales & marketing exp. in US/India are also most welcome!
